Message from Waters:
"During times of hopelessness, music has been the most inspirational and uplifting source of impetus in my life, especially Hip Hop. Its potential extends in all directions and its messages are powerful. I grew up in the city living the street life, at times even homeless, but these experiences have made me feel responsible for taking music in a positive direction, rather than fuel the fire of violence. As a healer, I communicate messages of hope, peace, and enlightenment with massage and music. My goal is to develop a self-sustaining off the grid community using Earthship (www.EARTHSHIP.com) designs for artists, healers and anyone willing to live more harmoniously with the environment. The hardships I survived are minor compared to whats happening on a global scale. Food and water shortages, climate change, and debilating poverty due to mismangement of resources are a threat to our existence. This is the opportunity to take my healing mission to the next level, not only by helping individuals but communites and the environment as well. Together we can bring Hip Hop into a better light and propel our species to greater heights. I will be doing training courses and onsite internships helping build Earthships for other families and disaster relief victims. I encourage you to do the same so we can work side by side on this project. I will also continue my education in the healing arts learning herbal medicine and more advanced body work to go with my Orthopedic Massage certification. A blog will be created and I will video document as much of this as possible so you can see this epic journey unfold and you can post to it as well. On this blog I will be setting up a kickstarter-like donation system so everyone can access it and to enlist the help of everyone for a project even greater. With the help of your donations this massive goal can become reality. This is one of many campaigns to come to boost awareness and raise much needed support not only for finaces but man power as well. This is a unique challenge with many components requiring innovative solutions not easily detailable in the beginning but will become more clear and communicable as support is acquired. However, the big picture is easy to see, we need land, materials, educated builders and great minds to help tie it all together. Remember its important that we get as many people involved as possible so even if you cant make a donation, spreading the word is just as good. Thank you for love and support"
This past Saturday, The Arcitype set up his portable studio inside the doors of Kyoto Jungle, a local clothing boutique run by the clothing brand Annie Mulz. For 8 hours, The Arcitype got busy producing a completely original 10-track beat tape.
It contains no samples. All parts were played and/or recorded and all the beats were conceptualized and created on the spot in the store.
This tape is brought to you by Annie Mulz, AR Classic Records and The Arcitype.
Between 2006 & 2008, Carolina Black (at the time known as “Merc Love”) and The Arcitype put together the makings of their debut album, ‘A Window In Time’. Due to some personal issues, the album was shelved. By the time the two got back to work again, The Arcitype was no longer sampling and the two decided the album felt stale to them. They began working on what later became Black’s debut album ‘The Key of Black’. The two have decided it's now time to put this album out for the people and give them a glimpse at
A Window In Time.
